The Åurora & Årk Programs are designed to nurture emerging actors into creating success for themselves. An actor waiting to be cast in a Television Series, Successful Independent Film, or Hollywood Picture can be waiting for quite some time and for some, a lifetime. With the Prolific Collective, actors are now given the opportunity to produce their ideal script with an award-winning director, award-winning crew and funds granted by Prolific Artists.
After an actor takes part in a small role on TV or Film, a career is not built, nor is the actor genuinely wanted by the industry. The goal of most actors, is to be a working actor. Both financially and artistically. However, with the current world we now live in, standing out is rather challenging. Taking full control of your roles and getting the needed recognition is difficult. As Sidney Poitier once said to an unknown up and coming Denzel Washington, “The first two, three or four films you make, will dictate where your career will go. It will paint a picture of the kind of actor you are, and you will be perceived accordingly”.
The Åurora Program at Prolific Artists would like to grant guidance of how you are perceived, where your career goes and the kind of actor you become. Prolific Artists stands committed to bringing the lead actors of a feature film and the film itself recognition at international Top-Tier Festivals.
The low budget independent film “Winter’s Bone” was nominated for 4 Academy Awards and was the film that brought recognition, world fame, and awards to Jennifer Lawrence. At the time of casting, Jennifer was an unknown actress, but after having shined in a lead role, it brought her the much desired success she needed for her career. Granted however, her artistry, genius and talent were already at a stage for an Oscar, but with the right script, the right director, the right cinematographer and the right editor, success was created and destined. Likewise, the heart wrenching film “Fruitvale Station” starring A-lister Michael B. Jordan, was the film that brought then unknown actor Michael B. Jordan Hollywood stardom. Michael ended up winning an extensive amount of best actor awards. The film was made on a mere $710k shooting budget in 2011, won the Audience Award and the Grand Jury Award at Sundance Film Festival, won Un Certain Regard and Golden Camera Award at Cannes Film Festival, won an Independent Spirit Award and more. For this reason, Prolific Artists demands that certain requirements are fully met before we can engage, guide and prepare you and your team for the journey of producing and acting in a festival-worthy feature film. As one of our students puts it, “the only thing standing between you and a best-actor award at Sundance is a great script and a great director”.
The Åurora Program is only open to current registered and former students at Prolific Artists. Nevertheless, the Årk Short Film Program is open to everyone. The year-long programs are designed to nurture actor/producers with project-specific support through the Prolific Collective, Audacity Innovative, and Interline Relations PR. Finding our students scripts, directors and crew, Prolific Artists grants up to $20,000 in equity financing and/or production services. We also grant year-round mentorship from one industry mentor and ongoing support from Prolific Artists founder Cristhian Andrews. The Program is not only designed to create success for the actors, but also hone emerging actor/producers’ creative instincts and evolve their communicating and problem-solving skills at all stages of their next feature film project.
